300KMile ratingKnown issues to check on the 2017 Acura MDX
One widely reported problem pattern applies to this model year. That does not mean this car has the fault — many were fixed under warranty or recall — but it is what to check, and what to ask the seller for, before you buy.
- 9-speed automatic transmissionWorth checking
The nine-speed automatic used in these years is commonly reported to hesitate, jerk between low gears and shift roughly from a stop.
What to check: Drive in traffic from a cold start. Ask whether the dealer applied the transmission control software updates.
Patterns are drawn from NHTSA recalls and complaints, manufacturer service bulletins and consistent owner reporting. Always confirm open recalls against the VIN and get an independent pre-purchase inspection.
